Rabbits, also known as gerbils, are native to the Middle East and other parts of Asia. The best-known game of rabbits is the World Cup rabbit. It is played with two opposite poles, one to keep the rabbits on the outside and one to let them out. The one holding the rabbit at the entrance has to be the quickest, while the other one makes trips back and forth on the playing field. This game can be very entertaining to watch, but not much fun to play. It is not recommended for kids ages three and up.
Rabbits are raised primarily for their meat. They’re of a different genetic classification than doves, though. Because rabbits are prey animals, rabbits are careful in enclosed spaces. They freeze if they sense danger and, as with dogs, they have a hierarchy.
A rabbit named Taffy has the most maneuverable jump and best throwing arm in the animal kingdom. So when she hops around your house, you can safely assume that she’s about to run into trouble. Any rabbit that gets in the way will probably get trampled, too. The other little bunnies usually scatter in all directions once they realize there’s a bunny up in their business.
Rabbits make lovely house pets. However, in case of attack or defense, remember your rabbit as a member of your family and treat her as you would any member of the family. She is your bunny, after all. If she ever suffers an injury (even a broken bone) immediately seek veterinary attention. In case of strangulation, be certain to give your rabbit CPR before attempting any self-cures on your own.
A girl rabbit should not be left alone by herself for any length of time. If she’s wandering away from you, keep her locked up in a safe place until she returns. While your rabbit is missing, inform your neighbors that you lost your rabbit. You can call the animal shelter if the local shelter does not have an available bunny for your girl. They may be able to track one down for you.
Hunting rabbits is an enjoyable sport. It’s one of those things that you can’t wait to do. And although you probably don’t plan on bringing the rabbit hunting part of your trip with you when you travel with your family, it’s always nice to know you have another female option in the bag if you need to use one. So now the girls are safe.
